Patient Question:
I wish to improve all round, I'm developing my own style, I'd like help with anatomy, folds and clothes, shading/highlight and using Photoshop. I'm a hard worker, though I ask you don't be overly overly harsh, I can take most things but please tell me where it works as well, otherwise I have a habit of tearing everything apart at the seams.

The reason I need your help is for commissions and this drama they call life, so much crap has happened that I want to channel all my energy into my art and prove my head of course in University wrong. Because I have the drive to make it and I will be grateful, I just need a helping hand.

I thank you in advance for just reading this and as much as I am helped is as much as I want to help the others in the hospital :)

Staff Advice:

:iconlatro21:
I saw you asked for assistance with folds/clothes/shading/highlights. The best way to improve in these areas, I've found, is still life -- in particular, tacking a sheet/piece of fabric to the wall or draping it over an object, setting up a light source, and drawing what you see. This will teach you to analyze what the light does to folds and how shadows are cast, as well as force you to shade in smooth gradients or harsh contrast from white to black depending on how you set up the lighting. This will help you become more comfortable in drawing folds in fabric/clothes and shading/highlights to the point where it will become natural and you won't need references. Crumpled up pieces of paper are good for this as well.

There's a particularly good tutorial for explaining how folds work here too:
