It's been almost a year since I contributed a blog post to this lovely group so I want to say hi I'm back folks! I have a lot of artsy things to share with you all that I've learned (and am still learning) so hang on tight! While I was thinking what to write as my first topic, I decided to kind of go back to the beginning as far as our thinking as artists goes in the creation process. I've come up with a short series called "Common Misconceptions" just to debunk some myths and misguided trends that are so often part of what we experience as we grow. This first "Common Misconceptions" topic will focus on traditional art.

First:
I still have an abundance of books available for purchase. I have knocked the price down to 8.00 on most and it comes out to roughly $200.00 for the entire set of books. A kind person recently purchased that many from me, I thank you.
Second:
I've been going through our submission folders for the group and would like to remind everyone that this group is NOT AN ART DUMP!. Please, refer to the Front Page for more information. If we feel that you are not following the rules, your submission will be declined. Ye be warned.
Third:
I recently ran a poll letting people vocalize their individual issues with their art and/or stories. I want to remind everyone that not only do we have an abundance of resources but we, in the past, have offered events, workshops and classes that only a few had taken advantage of. I will try and see what I can do about making this happen again but I, like most of you, will not waste my time if nobody is going to participate. Engagement is a key to learning.
Having said that, though, I will be writing articles to address these individual issues and, again, reconsidering running the Drawing class that I had started a while back. My concentration is Comic Books but I am educated in other things as well. Even the business side.
